It is taking over

Eczema is taking over my life. I have taken a break from my usual New Zealand bantering and photoblogging to express my severe aggravation at Eczema. For the past couple of months, I have done extreme battle with Eczema that started as a small patch on my eyelid which grew to a large patch on both eyelids, then spread to my mouth. Although I am sure that this is way too much information, I guess I'm writing as an act of desperation.
Shout out to all the other Eczema sufferers!
Seriously though, the dryness, cracking, bleeding, itching. It's terrible. I have made Mike buy all kinds of creams, including hydrocortisone, which can only be used for short periods of times, and have changed types of cream, types of soap, types of moisturizer, makeup, no makeup. It's terrible, and it won't go away!
2nd thing taking over: Mad Men
This show is amazing, I can't believe it has taken me so long to catch on to this show! I am completely addicted. Although, I marvel at all of the people who smoke, pregnant ladies, moms at the dinner table, troubled wives at the psychologist, cheating husbands. Everyone smokes.
The fashion on this show is to do for, the dresses, the flipped-out bobs, the high heels and pin-skirts with lipstick and nail polish. The nail polish, I'm completely obsessed with painting my nails with various shades of red and pink like the ladies in this show.
3rd thing taking over: Video Mania
Mike and I have recently updated our phones and can now take and upload video! I'm obsessed with taking video. Albeit, really terrible video that I have no desire and/or knowledge to edit. Watch for the videos and photos, which I really need to post but haven't had time to do yet!

White Night

White Night is part of the Auckland Arts Festival and is a free night where art enthusiasts can catch a bus and ride to various events throughout Auckland. There were all kinds of art, music, and dancing. We went with our friend Christian and although the event was free it was apparent that art exhibits aren't necessarily Mike's favorite activity. We made it to the Auckland museum and then abandoned White Night for a swim at Christian's pool.

Seasons changing

It has officially turned to fall here in Auckland. You would expect fall to mean things like changing leaves and bringing hoodies out of hibernation, yet fall here is not really any of those things. Fall means always carrying your umbrella and bringing out the gum boots. Mike and I have been super busy since I have started work. I know work at a law firm called A J Park, the work is busy and it is a far cry from my work with Dr. Elmore. I didn't realize first, how difficult it is to work in a different country, there are so many little things that are different that seriously throw me off like, dates, punctuation, spelling. Secondly, being the new person is tough, it is tough to work in a big new office where you don't know anyone and have to start at the bottom, an example of how new I am was on my first day after training my co worker Jess was helping me draft a letter and I wrote "cease and deceased"...instead of "cease and desist". Moments like that really make me miss working in an office where I knew how everything worked and I didn't feel overwhelmed at the thought of using a copy machine.

However, despite my insecurity I feel so blessed to have gotten this job. I believe that having experience in the legal field can really open doors for me. Mike and I have many pictures of our adventures the last weeks and I will try and get them up today, hope everyone is doing well, spring is coming....yay!
